Getting Excited
Jan and I are starting to get really excited about our planning retreat in a couple of weeks - we've found the most amazing converted chapel with a fireplace and awesome old organ I can play! We're writing lists of questions and things we need to discuss. As always, all suggestions are welcomed. The most difficult question of course is which of our giant selection of teas to bring with us (most likely all of them...) and which tea cosy would be most appropriate for the occasion (a difficult question indeed...)

Strategic Planning
Jan and I have been a bit quiet on the blog front just recently because we're in a period of planning and determining our long-term business goals. We need to really think about who we are and what we as a business believe in and promote.
After reading a lot about running an artistic small business we've realised we've been running Jane's Sunday Best as a hobby, not really considering it a genuine business even though we've registered our business name and we'll be shortly doing all our business tax stuff (aargh!)
So we're leaving home (for a weekend) and heading for a planning retreat somewhere lovely to do all those things real business people do, like work out our vision, budgets, plan for the next 12 months, and all those other helpful things.
We've found heaps of really useful information and resources at Crafting an MBA which we thoroughly recommend checking out (the free ebook you get when you join the mailing list is awesome). There are also some useful videos available on the Etsy community page.
